1. The new car must go through a good run-in

For two-stroke motorcycles, the mixing ratio of gasoline and lubricating oil should be increased to about 20:1 in order to be more conducive to the running-in of the cylinder surface.

On the one hand, it is necessary to clean the dust in the air filter regularly (about 1,000 kilometers), and on the other hand, it is necessary to frequently check the sealing conditions of the joints of the air filter to avoid problems. Clean air enters the cylinder without passing through the filter element. In order to improve the filtering effect, a layer of foam sponge can be added outside the paper core. Liquid friction is much less wear than dry friction. In order to avoid dry friction, the lubricating oil should adhere well to the surface of the cylinder and piston to form liquid friction. This requires lubricating oil to have an appropriate viscosity. The viscosity of lubricating oil is related to temperature, and lubricating oil of different viscosity should be used in different seasons. International standards stipulate that the lubricating oil to be used in summer is API classification SD grade SAE10W/30. my country’s national standards stipulate that gasoline engine lubricants of No. 6 are used in winter, No. 10 in spring and autumn, and No. 15 in summer.

4. The working of the engine must have good flexibility

The cause of engine knock is mainly caused by excessive combustion speed. The waterfall shock causes the piston to produce excessive impact force, which causes wear when hitting the cylinder wall. The reasons for the excessive burning speed are:

The gasoline brand used does not match the engine compression ratio. Motorcycle manufacturers stipulate that engines with high compression ratios should use No. 80 gasoline, and low compression ratios use No. 70 gasoline. If No. 70 gasoline is used for high compression ratios, knocking will occur and cause surface wear on the cylinder block.

The effective speed of the engine is generally between the maximum torque and the maximum power. Domestic motorcycles range from 3,000 rpm to 5,000 rpm, so that each gear has a corresponding speed range. If the driver does not pay attention to timely shifting and stalls, if fuel is suddenly added at this time, the cylinder will produce a knocking sound. In this case, you should shift to a low gear and re-accelerate in time, otherwise the cylinder surface will be damaged by knocking.

5. Avoid sticking cylinder

Cylinder sticking is the blocky adhesion between the piston and the cylinder surface. In addition to the lack of lubricating oil in the engine, the main reason for sticking cylinders is that the engine is not cooled well to produce overheating, which makes the lubricating oil lose its lubrication. How to avoid overheating of the engine? On the one hand, the heat sink of the cylinder should be cleaned frequently to make it have good heat dissipation conditions; on the other hand, the temperature of the heat sink should be frequently observed. The surface temperature after heat dissipation is generally below 180°C, which can be measured with a surface thermometer. The owner can also test the temperature of the heat sink by spitting water. If the saliva makes a sizzling sound on the heat sink, it means that the temperature is already high, and you need to stop and cool down in time, and then continue driving after the temperature drops to avoid sticking.

6. Avoid cold car use

When using a car in winter, the lubricating oil is in a solidified state and cannot play a role in lubrication. At this time, preheating must be performed. The method of preheating is to let the engine run for some more time in the idling state. After the temperature rises, the lubricating oil has taken effect before starting the vehicle.

There are a lot of carbon deposits in the piston crown and the cylinder head. When the carbon deposits fall into the cylinder, it will cause scratches and wear on the surface of the cylinder. In order to reduce the generation of carbon deposits, special engine oil must be used. Owners should also clean up the carbon deposits on the top of the piston in the cylinder head in time. When the carbon deposits are too much, the combustion chamber will become smaller, increase the compression ratio, and cause knocking.
